Preparing to Stay Cool This Summer

The days are getting longer and warmer. Summer is on it’s way. With it comes high temperatures that can pose a risk, especially for outdoor workers. Here are a few quick tips on how to beat the summer heat:

  1. Hydrate and then hydrate some more. When the temperatures soar, so can a person’s risk for dehydration. Drink large amounts of water and encourage all outdoor workers to do the same.
  2. Don’t overdress. In the summer, wear appropriate clothing for the heat, avoid overdresses which can lead to overheating.
